We take pieces that may have seen better days bringing them back to their original glory or we can apply a modern
finish such as faux, crackle, paint , or what ever your imagination can come up with. We can build custom cabinets from whole kitchens to one single cabinet including wall units to book cases, with any type of finish.
For a piece of furniture that requires total restoration, the process starts with stripping down to bare wood, sanding to a fine finish. The restoration process also includes repairs to crack & splits, gauges and the replacing of missing hardware. We can then match the stain color to match an existing piece the customer already has, or what ever else the customer chooses. The final phase is the application of the finish, whether it be lacquer, polyurethane or shellack including the sheen of the finish customized to the customers taste. As the final phase may require multiples coats of finish, our process includes sanding between coats to level the surfaces, then hand rubbing out the finish to get it to that desired sheen ordered by the customer.
Painted surfaces go through a similar process, starting with stripping the surfaces, sanding and making any repairs needed. The painted surface is then primed using products such as latex, oil or a shellack based primer. The piece is then sanded between coats, from to two plus coats depending on the desired finish.
